What we collect when you send a message

The business you chose, your message or rating, and your email address only if you give it. We keep a scrambled version of your network address for one hour to stop spam, and a scrambled marker so each person votes once on an ideas board. We use no tracking or advertising cookies.

Who sees your message

The business it is for, once it claims its box, and the SuggestionBox.tips team, who run the service and check for abuse. The business never sees your email address: replies reach you through us.

Finding a business

When you search for a place, what you type goes to Photon, a search service built on OpenStreetMap. If you tap "Places near me", your phone shares your location with OpenStreetMap's Overpass service once, to list places around you. We do not store your location. Sorting messages

We may use an AI service (Anthropic's Claude) to group messages by topic, flag what needs attention, hold back spam and abuse, and translate messages into English. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.

Ideas boards

Ideas sent to a public ideas board appear on that board once the business approves them, without your name or email. Messages sent to any other box are never public.

Businesses

When a message is waiting for a business that has not claimed its box, we may contact it at its published business contact details, once, with one reminder at most. It can ask us to stop at any time. Claiming a box and reading messages are free.

Your rights

To see, correct or delete anything you sent, email hello@suggestionbox.tips with the link to your message. Businesses can ask us to close their account and delete its messages the same way.

Fair use

Do not send threats, abuse, other people's personal information or spam. We remove such messages and may block senders. Businesses must not use replies to send marketing.
